Started out at the Wellness Center and got my blood pumping and my body sweating!
Next was the Men’s Bible Study where Pastor Mark Foster did a great job of teaching, as usual. I will write more about this another time, but I have been praying for about a year specifically about what God would want me to do as I am reaching a significant phase of my career. I will make 30 years next month with the state. In the last couple of weeks the Lord has been answering my prayer, but not at all like I expected. Instead of pointing me in a career direction, like I wish I had expected, He pointed me to Him. He is enough. I don’t need to fret over my specific task. That will take care of itself, if I just keep seeking His face. Does anybody else find it quite amazing that God wants a relationship with us?
Subway breakfast sandwich was next on the agenda and April is bygo month! I love a deal! And it was very good.
I read my birthday cards when I got to work and was so blessed by kind, appreciative words from my in-laws; a funny and loving card from the children; and a very sweet card from my wife – all of which brought tears to my eyes as I knew how blessed I am.
My son called, my Mom and Dad called and my brother called. Again, I was reminded of how blessed I am.
I invited a good friend and co-worker to go to the Men’s Lunch at the Pentecostal church where our new sheriff, Jay Russell, was
the featured speaker. Inspirational and good to know we have many men, leaders, in our community who love Jesus.
I had a good day at work where we made some progress in hiring staff even in a time where we are under a Governor’s Executive Order to freeze spending. We have been able to obtain exceptions.
Indulged in a Great American Chocolate Chip cookie to top off the day! Oh, yes, a big one with chocolate icing!
Thank God for birthdays!
